you & me is an album, which is here to extend the listeners summer. the concept of collaboration is even expanded on the cover artwork. a team of seven graphic artists led by johannes timbernagel interpreted the same template of jacobs face in their specific style. to bring them all together johannes texturized a 3d-model of jacobs head with a collage of all the drawings.

his music may be fitting for the perfect massage or romantic candle-lit dinner, possibly even responsible for the creation of countless offspring around the world, but rocco raimundo is both unashamed and inspired by what his musical talents can often induce.

taron-trekka as a dj & producer duo posses the gift to make people happy, in that they implant in their souls powerfully deep music. the two gentlemen call aloud from the cellar: can we kick it? the audience answers back dancing: yes you can! and so it goes on their second release, for the enthusiast label milnormodern run by treplec, which has managed to carve some room when it comes to puffed out beats. the release cycle is a gentle process. in this way such sonic pearls unfold develop to their fullest, without drowning in a flood.

what taron-trekka does from the wide field of deepness is fashion a diversity of color and that certain thump that fits right in-between their compositions. regardless of whether a piece sounds a little held back, somehow it produces a booom. for them, dancing is the vertical expression of the joi de vivre of the body members, based on the horizontal fantasy and an empathy for the physical.

t.c. matic were a belgian rock band formed in the early 80s by arno hintjens and jean marie aerts (who would go on to produce albums by urban dance squad and absynthe minded). they played a mix of new wave, blues, funk, hard rock, avant garde and even some french chansons. their eclectic mix and experimental approach to music would have a great impact on belgian bands such as deus and zita swoon. their eponymous album t.c. matic from 1981 has their biggest hit >o la la la< on it, a song that can still rock the dance floors today.

london based audio visual collective old apparatus have started their own label, sullen tone, with their first ep derren dropping in july. with two releases on dubstep pioneer malas deep medi label under their belt, and - in contrast - a tape of improvised electro-acoustic music for berlin-based the tapeworm, the group formed sullen tone to provide a home for old apparatus to elaborate and expand on their vision and allow the listener to be drawn even further into their compellingly beautiful yet destructive dystopian world.

kyle geiger brings you his third installment on his imprint cubera in a quest to bridge some crucial gaps between house and techno constituents. this time, taking it a little deeper with the use of vocal work from vocalist stefanie jansen for the title track scream, weaving her voice in and out of a strong synth and percussion work out. in the second mix of the a-side, truncate lends his tough, stripped style for his remix of >scream<, providing a welcome contrast to the original. on the other side, >underneath< adjusts the eps sweat dial to 11 with its shit-losing, raw synth hook. the fact that this track even has a sweat dial that goes up to 11 should communicate something really special. the final track step brings more of an stabby, yet scaled back afterhours vibe to round things out, while still carrying enough critical mass to make things a little messy.

belgian producer, tim van de meutter, aka locked groove, returns to hotflush for a second ep following the success of januarys pivotal rooted release. keep it simple comprises three weighty examples of why the young producers unique fusion of big-room techno and moodier, deep-house elements has been resonating so loudly of late. central to the ep is simplicity itself, how simple structures create something larger than the sum of their parts as >keep running<, with its rattling percussion, acidic bass stabs and euphoric builds, flaunts to the full. >aller simple< adds swing to a similar palette that is as stripped-back as it is heavy-duty. force is replaced by introspection on vinyl-closer, >even< – an inebriated voice reverberates over whispered organs and an understated groove.

on her first ep, a.n.i.c.e. composed a track which is deep and full of emotions. >wait for me< is the official wake-up call for all the daydreamers and dally fairies. its marvelous vocals capture the listeners attention. dj le rois remix is more the four to the floor part of this ep. because of the driving bassline not even the last foot will stand still. >the dawn< is boosted by percussion elements and vocals that can only be sung by fairies underline this emotional track.

full pupp helps another new outfit into the saddle. even though esteemed norwegian dj ole martin vilberg aka omar v and robin craaford, one half of dance disorder with baby g (bpitch, eskimo) are hardly young guns, they gang up together for the first time on complete: a blinding cut that harks back to the time with good ol jack was still the young buck and closely associated with uncle electro funk: tough beats, hyperactive claps, a jittering bass and a catchy, squeaking melody are still rattling bones if masterfully pieced together as it is done here. the guy most closely related to the italo sound out of the whole norwegian disco bunch chucks the more intricate original rhythm but goes hypertechnicolor and widescreen on the synth parts boosting up the originals melody, throwing in a nod to happy station and a hi-energy bassline.

bliq are proud to present bliq05:nicuris paradigms fresh out of union city, ny. the paradigms of which nicuri speaks are darkness, deliverance and determination, modal expressions delivered on three cuts of resonant electronic music. on doldrums nicuri plays with paradox,combining staggered, dreamy synths with unnerving bass rumbles. to reinvigorate the doldrums, or as he puts it replenish the earth, the producer implements a menacing analog rumble in the style of new york greats dj qu and joey anderson. but to ensure that the ground is re-imbued with rational vitality, nicuri adds a layer of baroscopic viscosity: smog surrounds and engulfs, a suppressed vocal intermittently choking. on the flip, parrish adams – aka intrinsic of emphasis records in chicago – gives the earth an even harder, more insistent techno edge. he introduces melodic light flashes at the edges of urban darkness, and rumbles it like a train escaping grand central station. bliq05 is on the run.

marius bubat and georg conrad aka coma combine pop and house, techno and indie rock with an eclectic approach, creating highly recognizable music with an emotional impact. even though emerging just a short time ago, coma have already seen their share of travelling, with a recent appearance at sxsw 2012 and even a journey to vietnam. it was there the boys teamed up with norwegian dj charlotte bendiks, as they fought their way through the chaos of hanois traffic.

place 2b & paimon go on the melodic tip on this blistering new fokuz limited. beautifull intro turns into a huge bassmonster right here, nice one! for the flip the guys did a collab with a vocalist to make their already epic soundscapes even bigger, nice rolling beats fitting in perfectly well and than there is the bass howling sounds. the new twist for 2012, play it loud!

killekill herewith announces the start of a sub label focussing the housier side of what we like. killekill house trax starts with the release of a great track by alex cortex. quite uptempo but groovy as hell oh yeah comes along with a strong reminiscence to classic chicago house with its strong bassline and the catchy vocal sample. tyree cooper added a simple but well working piano and packed the original into an even more classic outfit. oh yeah!

roman flügel – third take. hot on the heels of >brian le bon< and the >desperate housemen ep<, the man like roman iv, soylent green and alter egos spectacled half supplies four tracks of heavenly proportions. ramona doesnt even know where to start with her eulogy, but at the start.

the french producer fred siera adds a remix of >real face<, which is a real bomb! the clearly defined bass sounds will have a mighty push on any dancefloor, still the remix feels really smooth because of the rest of the arrangement, making this track overall even more enjoyable. let the summer begin!

the winter is cold but the sun warms the days. keymono-music has built a new release for the spring. with the start of the season felix bernhardt serves us a technoid temperatured cocktail against tiredness of spring. ice-cold and minimal is side a going on to the point. stylistically essentialised reduced, even with stomping and rolling bass, >the driving machine< and >ratter chatter< are shaking the last icicle out of us. because of the houseline rekardo rivalos remix on side b you can feel the change of the temperature and you can see eventually the rise of this years summer already on the horizon... supported and played by: richie hawtin, slam, claude vonstroke, paco osuna, rene bourgeois, kiko martinez, boenig & ochs and many more..

borrowed language returns with their second release this year, and the second collaborative effort to date from chicago-based producer/dj jeff pietro & label owner israel vines. following jeff pietros future classic >still< (charted by surgeon, peter van hoesen, silent servant, and many others) and justin iveys exemplary >apparition bay< (which won favor by the likes of rob hall and dj pete) was never going to be an easy task, but vines & pietro prove that they are more than up to the challenge – this is perhaps an even stronger statement of intent than their earlier joint effort, >distance no object< (blx-2).
